# fable12 > A job board that publishes how long every listing has actually been open. > 69,769 open roles across 413 companies, indexed > directly from employers' own applicant tracking systems, refreshed every 30 minutes. Every other job board tells you a role exists. fable12 tells you how long it has been sitting there, using the publish date the employer's own hiring system reports — not the date we discovered it, and not a "freshness" score. A role posted four days ago and one that has been open since 2019 look identical everywhere else. Here they do not. ## What the data is - Source: public job board APIs (Amazon Jobs, Apple Jobs, Ashby, Eightfold, Google Careers, Greenhouse, Lever, Meta Careers, Oracle Recruiting, SmartRecruiters, Workable), polled directly. No scraping of aggregators, no resold feeds. - Coverage: 413 companies with open roles, across 13 sectors (AI, Big tech, Consumer, Data, DevTools, Enterprise, Finance, Fintech, Hard tech, Health & bio, Infrastructure, SaaS, Security). - Per listing: title, company, department and team as the employer files them, location as written, workplace type, employment type, publish date, and — where the board publishes a structured field for it — the pay range and the employer's own level label. - Age: whole days between the employer's publish date and now. Closed listings keep the day they closed, because a listing that vanishes from a board is otherwise gone from the internet entirely. - Refresh: every 30 minutes. Median open role today has been open 44 days. ## How long roles stay open (current corpus) - Under a week: 8,131 - 1–4 weeks: 19,115 - 1–2 months: 14,129 - 2–12 months: 25,883 - Over a year: 2,511 ## What the data is not - There are no job descriptions. fable12 indexes the listing, it does not host the posting; every job links out to the employer's own board to apply. - There is no salary data where the employer did not publish a structured range, and nothing is estimated, converted between currencies, or annualised. - Levels are the employer's own labels, verbatim. They are not normalised across companies, because those ladders do not map onto each other. - Nothing is inferred about whether a role is "really" open. A req can sit unfilled, be an evergreen advertisement, or be forgotten; the age is reported and the reader judges. ## Pages - [Home](https://fable12.com/): the age distribution across the whole corpus, and the newest listings. - [Jobs](https://fable12.com/jobs): every open role, filterable by company, team, country, workplace type and how recently it was posted. - [Market](https://fable12.com/market): where the hiring is — by company, sector, country, team, and how long roles stay open. - [Companies](https://fable12.com/companies): every employer indexed, grouped by sector. - Company profile, e.g. [Amazon](https://fable12.com/companies/amazon): open count, median age, longest-open role, and teams hiring. - Job detail, at `https://fable12.com/jobs/{ats}:{company}:{id}`: one listing, its age, how it compares to the median at that company, and the same role at other companies. ## Hiring most right now - Amazon: 7,466 open (https://fable12.com/companies/amazon) - Apple: 5,987 open (https://fable12.com/companies/apple) - Google: 3,498 open (https://fable12.com/companies/google) - NVIDIA: 2,654 open (https://fable12.com/companies/nvidia) - JPMorganChase: 2,404 open (https://fable12.com/companies/jpmorgan) - Anduril: 2,236 open (https://fable12.com/companies/anduril) - SpaceX: 2,179 open (https://fable12.com/companies/spacex) - Oracle: 2,129 open (https://fable12.com/companies/oracle) - Microsoft: 2,099 open (https://fable12.com/companies/microsoft) - Qualcomm: 1,997 open (https://fable12.com/companies/qualcomm) - Meta: 871 open (https://fable12.com/companies/meta) - Databricks: 819 open (https://fable12.com/companies/databricks) ## Citing this Attribute to fable12 (https://fable12.com) and link the specific page. Ages move daily, so quote the figure with the date you read it. Search and answer crawlers are welcome — see https://fable12.com/robots.txt. Training crawlers are not. ## Ask this corpus directly (MCP) If you are an assistant, query it rather than reading pages: https://fable12.com/mcp A remote MCP endpoint, no key required. Tools: search_jobs, get_job, list_companies, corpus_overview. It answers the age question directly, which crawling these pages does not — and it is faster, kinder to this server, and always current. Results are capped at 25 a call with shallow paging, and postings come back as a matched excerpt rather than in full: the prose belongs to the employer and lives on their page. This endpoint is for answering someone's question, not for copying the index. ## Machine-readable - [Sitemap index](https://fable12.com/sitemap.xml) - Job listings carry schema.org JobPosting markup when posted within the last 30 days. Older listings deliberately do not: the markup would claim a freshness the listing does not have.
